On 1 April 2024, he will succeed Ger Luijten, who died suddenly in December 2022. Christelle Téa à la Fondation Custodia This new catalogue takes us on a tour of the Fondation Custodia, with its wealth of subjects and details. Christelle Téa drew the premises on the spot, using Indian ink, and surprises us with unexpected points of view. Publication of the catalogue raisonné of the Chinese porcelain collection Written by Christiaan J.A. Jörg, eminent specialist on Chinese porcelain, the catalogue raisonné describes in detail the 125 pieces in the Fondation Custodia’s collection and places them in a scholarly context. Richly illustrated, it also traces the history of the collection. In loving memory of Ger Luijten The Fondation Custodia and its staff are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Ger Luijten on 19 December 2022. Donation of a painting by François Bonvin and a watercolour by Henry Monnier In memory of Robert Stoppenbach (1948–2020) Many dealers like to share their love for works of art at the Fondation Custodia. Three of them – Jean-Pierre Selz, Jane Roberts and Robert Stoppenbach – were inspired by this place, united by a deep friendship. Their shared passion has now been crowned by two donations. It is now possible to browse through these 166 sheets, among which no less than 21 are by Rembrandt. The Bacler d’Albe dossier Among the treasures of the Fondation Custodia, curator Laurence Lhinares has chosen to present a dossier devoted to Louis Albert Guislain Bacler d’Albe (1761-1824), Napoleon’s cartographer. Frans Pannekoek Graphic Art (1959–2017) Frans Pannekoek (1937) has been making and printing etchings, especially drypoints, for more than fifty years. A survey of this work is now published in an online catalogue (RKD Study). The Flandrins in the Fondation Custodia A number of the works by the Flandrin brothers in the Fondation Custodia have taken up residence this summer in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, which organizes an ambitious exhibition on the three brothers. The painter Jan van de Cappelle re-united with his wife at the Fondation Coming from Amsterdam, the portrait of Jan van de Cappelle painted by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout – on loan from the Amsterdam Museum – is once again sharing a wall with his wife Annetje Grotincx.
